2012/13
"Strum Me A Story:  A Celebration of American Folklore" is the new Upton Trio education project.  A new music work will be composed.  It will be inspired by folktales, legends, myths and drama that celebrate our rich and diverse American culture.  "Brer Rabbit tales from the African American experience, Borrequita and Coyote from the Native American fable tradition, Pecos Bill/Davy Crocket/Sally Thunder/Mike Fink that celebrate western folktales, Army of the Dead (Civil War ghost legend) or Headless Horseman will be some of the stories.  Language arts will be the subject area for 4th and 5th grade instruction.
2011/12
"Journey to Mars" is premiered.
2010
"Scenes from SC is premiered.  5th CD, "These Are Different Times" is positively reviewed by "The State", South Carolina's largest newspaper and internationally by "Fanfare" Magazine.
2009
“From Bach to Beyond Rock” is played for the first time. Albany Records releases internationally a new CD by The UptonTrio – “These Are Different Times” – November 1st
2008
“Transformation” CD is picked up by Amazon.com. The Upton Trio adds taverns and coffeehouses to its performance venues.
2007
Dusan Vukajlovic joins the trio as cellist and plays for the first time with the Trio, Saint Saens Piano Trio No.2
2006
The Upton Trio plays at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York
2006
The Upton Trio “Transformation” CD is released online by CD Baby. “The Four Elements” is performed for the first time to stunned audiences.
2005
“Fundamental Forces: The Music of Science” commences a cross-disciplinary educational program that causes standardize test scores to go up dramatically.
2004
“American Dance Suite” debuts: a sweeping retrospective of the history of American Dance.
2003
A long and moving piece “Evocation” comes out. The Trio performs at the Three Rivers Music Festival in Columbia, SC. Their CD Evolutions is distributed and tracks are heard nationwide on NPR.
2002
The Trio begins to play original compositions in addition to works by other modern living composers including a ballet for the Cleveland Dancing Wheels
2001
Collaborated with Hootie and the Blowfish members in a special concert sponsored by the Animal Mission.
2000
Worked closely with composer Miera Warshauer resulting in a concert of all Jewish music.
1999
Collaborated in a concert with Jim ‘Soni’ Sonefeld of Hootie and the Blowfish.
1998
Incorporated as a non-profit music organization and created a governing board of directors.
1997
Mary Lee Taylor joins the Upton Trio.
1996
Performed at Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.
1995
Francis Marion State Universtiy Concert/Lecture Series, broadcast on cable television.
1994
Commissioned new work by Edward Hart of Charleston, “Three Gullah Tunes.”
1993
Awarded Trio-in-Residence at Ivan Galamian’s Meadowmount School of Music, Upstate, NY.
1992
Trio director and pianist Billy Shepherd interviewed by NBC highlighting the NEA’s achievements in rural America.
1991
Trio Performs at the Piccolo Spoleto festival in Charleston.
1990
Commissioned “Eicha” by Maxine Miera Warshauer premiered at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County.
1989
